New York woman gets prison term for altercation aboard plane
A New York woman has been sentenced to four months in prison for interfering with crew members aboard a flight from Dallas to Los Angeles last year that had to be diverted to Phoenix, according to federal prosecutors. American Airlines on Thursday reported a record quarterly loss and faces difficult months ahead as new travel restrictions and a slow rollout of vaccines cloud hopes for a near-term recovery. The flight bound for Cleveland Hopkins International Airport departed Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport Saturday afternoon, Nov. 21. The windshield, known as a windscreen on airplanes, cracked after about 30 minutes in the air. The flight typically takes an hour and 10 minutes to an hour and a half.
