2 dead in fiery car crash on Detroit’s west side

Police say 2 unidentified men died in car crash Monday

DETROIT – Two unidentified men were killed in a car crash early Monday morning.

Detroit police say that at around 2:30 a.m. Monday, a white Mercury Grand Marquis crashed into a Ford Crown Victoria in the area of Grand River and Oakfield avenues. The Mercury reportedly burst into flames amid the crash.

The drivers of both vehicles, whose identities are unknown, were pronounced dead at the scene. Detroit police say they are currently unsure of the directions the vehicles were driving before the crash.

Officials said there were no other passengers in either of the vehicles.

No additional details have been provided.
