Northbound I-75 to reopen in Oakland County after police investigate shooting

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – The northbound lanes of I-75 are set to reopen in Oakland County after police investigated a shooting on the freeway.

The freeway closed around 12:10 p.m. Friday (Jan. 7) in the area of East Holly Road, state police said. They said it would be “reopening shortly” around 3 p.m.

The left lane will remain closed while police wait for a tow truck.

Officials said a man was driving north on I-75 when someone fired shots, striking him. He was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition, according to Michigan State Police.

The man and witnesses told police the shots came from a white Audi that fled the freeway at East Holly Road, authorities said.
