Our cold front rolled through the region overnight Thursday night and early on Friday morning.
With unseasonally warm temperatures on Thursday, we’ve been watching temperatures fall below the freezing mark as you’re waking up early on Friday morning
Any rain showers have changed over to snow showers just in time for the morning commute, and temperatures will continue to fall throughout the day into the 20s.
We are expecting some slick spots to develop for the morning and evening commute.
Chances for snow showers will continue throughout at least the first half of the day on Friday, thanks to the northwesterly flow kicking in behind the cold front, but we do expect any snow showers to wind down by late Friday afternoon and early Friday evening.
Another frontal boundary rolls into the region for the start of the weekend on Saturday, so we will keep the chance of a few sprinkles or a few snow flurries into the forecast.
Temperatures start out below freezing, then warm into the mid to upper 30s by the time we get to Saturday afternoon.
High-pressure builds in for the end of the weekend on Sunday, so we will decrease the cloud cover and increase the sunshine by Sunday afternoon.
Colder temperatures are remaining in the forecast, as we’re only expecting to warm into the 20s by Sunday afternoon.
Cloud cover sticks around, looking ahead into the start of next week on Monday.
We’re watching another disturbance roll into the region late Monday into Tuesday.
This could start as a little bit of snow with temperatures below freezing on Monday night, then warming into the 40s by Tuesday afternoon, so any snow will change over to some rain showers.
Then, looking into the Christmas holiday, another disturbance rolls into the region late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.
So we will keep a chance of rain showers into the forecast on Christmas Eve night, and as you’re waking up early Christmas morning.
The rest of the day will remain dry, with cloud cover sticking around.
High temperatures remaining above average into the 40s through the middle of the week on Wednesday, and on Thursday as well.
