Plane makes emergency landing at Willow Run airport due to mechanical issues

Plane experienced issues with its landing gear

VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A small airplane made an emergency landing early Sunday morning at Willow Run Airport.

According to authorities, the small aircraft was experiencing mechanical issues and its landing gear did not come down, causing the plane to leave the runway just after midnight.

Authorities said the two people onboard were able to exit safely and were unharmed.

The investigation into what went wrong is ongoing.
