Weather: High 86°, Low 65°

Expect another cool start today! Hopefully you enjoy it a bit cooler at night. Usually it helps make it more comfortable for sleeping, especially if you don't have AC, or if you do and you want to give it a rest.

Today should be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 80s. 😎

Traffic: Orange Barrel Land 🚧 🚧

Welcome to Orange Barrel Land. Population: Millions and growing!

OK maybe not MILLIONS of orange barrels (it would be interesting/time-consuming to count how many barrels actually are out there), but that's what it feels like here on Metro Detroit's roads.

ANYWAY ... the bottom line is construction barrels are everywhere you look. MDOT has crews very busy working on some of the most-traveled roadways in the state (see the list of 30 projects that started Monday 😮). Please be safe and aware of these workers.

⚠️ Slow down in construction zones. It's not worth risking someone's life. If you're late, you're late. That's why you're urged to plan ahead and know what's on your route. Please drive safely! 🙏

Here's something for our Washtenaw County drivers to watch out for today:

  • NB US-23 ramp to EB I-94 closed for construction
  • NB US-23 ramp to WB I-94 closed for construction

New Detroit FCA plant supplier announcement 🚘

Mayor Duggan and industry leaders are set to announce the first "major supplier" for the new FCA assembly plant that's under construction on the city's east side. The multi-million dollar investment is expected to create hundreds of new manufacturing jobs. According to Duggan's office, the supplier has committed to the same priority hiring practices for Detroiters as FCA.

We'll be there.

Fighting child hunger 🥊
