Man, woman hospitalized after attempted murder in Bedford Township, police seek suspects

BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted homicide that occurred Tuesday night in Bedford Township.

According to authorities, the incident happened at about 10 p.m. at the Bedford Inn Motel on Telegraph Road.

Deputies were dispatched to the Happy Days Motel, also located on Telegraph Road, Wednesday morning on reports of a 32-year-old woman and 30-year-old man from Toledo were found unresponsive by motel staff. Police said the investigation revealed both victims were assaulted at the Bedford Inn Motel the night prior.

Both victims were sent to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.

A search warrant was authored and served by detectives on a motel room at the Bedford Inn Motel, where evidence of an aggravated assault took place. Police said drugs and a gun were also recovered.

The woman has been released from the hospital after being treated for her injuries, but the man remains hospitalized in critical condition.
