Michigan State Police troopers were called around 8:50 p.m. Sunday as Warren officers pursued a vehicle involved in a domestic assault shooting in Sterling Heights, officials said.
Troopers joined the chase as the vehicle fled through Oakland County and continued into Detroit, police said.
State police tried to stop the fleeing vehicle with a PIT maneuver, but the driver made a U-turn and continued to avoid police, according to authorities.
When a Warren police officer also performed a PIT maneuver, the vehicle rolled onto its side, ending the chase, officials said.
The two people inside the fleeing vehicle were arrested without incident, police said. Warren officers took them into custody.
State police will investigate the car chase, while investigation of the original incident will be handled by Sterling Heights and Warren police, authorities said.
