A Lincoln high school student told administrators that a 16-year-old boy in her class flashed a gun at her and threatened to pistol-whip her. At least two students said they had seen what they described as a pistol. The incident put Lincoln High School into a brief lockdown.

Gunman in violent murder of 28-year-old Warren resident arraigned
WARREN, Mich. โ On Friday, a 28-year-old Warren man died after being shot five times in the head and neck by a 27-year-old man, police say. The suspect was arrested in Detroit and taken into police custody on Saturday, according to Warren Police Commissioner, William Dwyer. Warren police say evidence collected showed the gunman shot the victim while he was on the ground in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Police say the gunman shot the victim three additional times in the head as he was on the ground unable to defend himself. The gunman was arraigned Tuesday at 2 p.m. on charges at the Warren 37th District Court.

Puppy stolen from familyโs home in Warren, returned safely by police
WARREN, Mich. โ Eight-week-old Bella, an American bulldog, was a Christmas gift for Ashley Swinton and her children. โWe got her two days before Christmas, and just a couple of days ago, I had food delivered,โ she said. โThey (the family) thought originally the dog had just gotten out of the room,โ said Detective Brian Price with the Warren Police Department. Camera captures delivery driver take package he had just delivered to Warren home
WARREN, Mich. โ Thomas Jarosโ doorbell camera captured an Amazon driver stealing a package that they had just delivered. โMy package had been delivered and there was a picture that my package was on the doorstep.โJaros received the photo from Amazon to confirm that the items he ordered had been delivered to his motherโs home in Warren, but when he and his mother checked -- the package was gone. Jaros said he took the footage with the Warren Police Department and made a police report. A Detroit woman said she took matters into her own hands after someone was stealing her packages. After getting a Ring doorbell camera, she finally caught a woman stealing her latest package off her door step.
Argument over slashed tires in Warren leads to double-stabbing
WARREN, Mich. โ A man is in critical condition at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital after a stabbing Sunday morning. According to authorities, an argument over someoneโs slashed tires turned violent just before 3 a.m. and two men were stabbed. It happened near the intersection of Jackson and Mullin avenues, just north of Eight Mile Road. Both men were rushed to Ascension Hospital for their injuries, where one is expected to be OK and the other is currently in critical condition. 2 dogs stolen from vehicle in Troy found safe
TROY, Mich. โ Two dogs that were stolen Wednesday from a vehicle in Troy have been returned to their owners. The Pomeranians were purchased by a seller at a gas station and turned over to the Warren Police Department. The dogs -- named Gucci and Chanel -- were reported stolen from the car parked at the curbside pickup of Michaels on John R and 14 Mile roads. You can watch the original report in the video below. Increased coronavirus spread reaches Warren Police Department, impacts operations
WARREN, Mich. โ As Michigan experiences its second wave of coronavirus spread, frontline institutions are growing concerned -- including local police departments. Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer says 13 officers and one dispatcher are not currently working after testing positive for the virus. On Thursday, yet another Warren officer -- a lieutenant in his 40s -- tested positive for COVID and has been hospitalized. Warren City Hall closes temporarily due to COVID-19 spike
WARREN, Mich. โ A rise in COVID-19 cases among city hall employees has led to the temporary closure of Warren City Hall. According to city officials Sunday, a department administrator is currently on a ventilator and sedated until his oxygen levels go up. City officials said Warren Police Department and District Court also have experienced significant spikes. All city employees will be tested and the court, city hall and police department will be disinfected. It is currently unknown when Warren City Hall will reopen.
Police arrest gunman after standoff in Warren
WARREN, Mich. โ Police arrested an armed man at the end of a standoff in Warren. Warren Police Departmentโs Special Response team responded to a home near Toepfer and Hoover roads. Police said the standoff started after an argument between a couple at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday. Police said that at some point, the man fired four shots. Police negotiated with the man and eventually took him into custody.
West Bloomfield home raided in connection with Warren, Detroit triple-homicide
WARREN, Mich. โ A house in West Bloomfield was raided by police Friday morning in connection with a triple-homicide between Detroit and Warren. Officers were at the house to notify Rimson that her boyfriend, Taiโrazโs father, had been found dead in a burning car on Detroitโs west side. Warren police Commissioner Bill Dwyer confirmed Taiโraz and Rimson were led down to the basement of the home. Warren police operation seizes 75 guns, $107,000 in drug money
WARREN, Mich. โ Police in Warren responded to a recent uptick in crime with Operation SNAG, which helped get guns, drugs and criminals off the streets. City officials held a press conference Thursday to discuss SNAG, which stands for Saving Neighborhoods Against Guns. It includes a police task force getting deep into areas where there have been shootings and armed robberies. Police said more than two dozen guns seized are at a crime lab being tested. Warren mayor Jim Fouts commended the Warren Police Department for Operation SNAG and said the task force saved lives.

Warren residents create barricade to trap 20-year-old woman driving drunk, police say
WARREN, Mich. A group of Warren residents took matters into their own hands when they saw a 20-year-old woman allegedly driving drunk in their neighborhood, creating their own barricade to trap her and lead to her arrest, according to authorities. Warren police cruiser video showed officers arresting Lillian Valente, 20, of Sterling Heights, in Warrens St. Anne neighborhood. Warren Lt. David Kriss said Valente had a blood alcohol content of 0.2, or twice the legal limit. We just see out of a corner and zoom, a car flew by, resident Melissa Gordon said. Police said Valente got out of the car stumbling and was immediately arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

County sheriff: White Warren police officer did not violate laws during arrest of Black Amazon driver
MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. โ The Macomb County Sheriffโs Office determined that a Warren police officer did not violate any laws or policies during their arrest of an Amazon delivery driver in June. Police say the White officer approached the Black Amazon driver and requested the driverโs license 10 times, which the driver did not comply with. The Warren officer involved was placed on paid administrative leave during the investigation led by the county sheriffโs office. The Macomb County Sheriffโs Office announced Monday that the Warren police officer did not violate any Michigan criminal laws, nor did they violate any of the city police departmentโs policies. Standoff with Warren police ends peacefully
A four-hour standoff between police and a gunman ended peacefully Saturday in Warren. According to authorities, it happened at a home in the area of Sherwood Avenue and Nine Mile Road. Police said they were responding to reports of shots being fired at about 9 a.m. and two people barricaded themselves inside the home until 1 p.m.Warren police said the two people were taken into custody without incident.
