PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 14-year-old boy allegedly robbed customers inside a Pittsfield Township Meijer store with a fake gun, police say.

The robberies happened Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24 at 3825 Carpenter Road in Pittsfield Township.

In both separate robberies on those days the victims reported being approached by the teen inside the store. The victims say he demanded their phones and was armed with a gun.

During the second incident the victim refused to give the teen his phone and called police with a description of him.

When officers arrived to the scene they arrested the teen who had an airsoft pistol, a toy gun designed to look like a real handgun.

On Monday, the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office authorized petitions on both robberies.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pittsfield Township Police Department at 734-822-4958.
