A state trooper met a complainant and victim at a residence in Manton. The victim had disclosed to her father that she had been sexually abused between January 2020 and August 2021. Investigations led to the arrest of 51-year-old Matthew James Judson of Manton, Michigan.

Michigan State Police patrol car struck on M-14 in Ann Arbor by drunk driver

ANN ARBOR – A Michigan State Police trooper’s vehicle was struck by a passing car on Wednesday when the officer was about to exit the patrol car. The officer was about to perform a traffic stop on E/B M-14 near Barton Drive at 9:45 p.m. when the incident occurred. During that traffic stop, it was revealed that the 31-year-old Ann Arbor man was intoxicated. He admitted to troopers that he was aware he struck a patrol car but decided to keep driving.

Police arrest 2 men who stole bricks while posing as demolition workers
DETROIT – On Friday, police arrested two people for stripping bricks from a city owned building in the 4000 block of Whitney in Detroit. According to Detroit police, on Friday neighbors in the area voiced concern about two men who were pulling down scrap bricks from an abandoned building and contacted the Detroit Land Bank. When police arrived to the area they witnessed the men piling the bricks on four wooden pallets. Police approached and spoke with the men who claimed they were demolition workers and authorized to be there. The men were both arrested while already on probation for the same crime.

Video shows Michigan State University police captain arrested for drunk driving
Authorities said a Michigan State University police captain had a blood alcohol level of 0.25 when she was arrested for drunk driving. Valerie O’Brien was arrested on Feb. 10 after a Michigan State Police trooper pulled her over just off Interstate 96 west of Lansing. A video shows O’Brien yelling at the trooper that she was going to sue him. WILX-TV, which first obtained the video, reported that O’Brien is on paid leave since her arrest. Police say the man was speeding on the Lodge Freeway near 8 Mile inside of a Dodge Charger. He was arrested for reckless driving and is being held in the Detroit Detention Center while the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office reviews the case. After searching the man’s vehicle police found a loaded handgun inside of it.

Springsteen charged with drunken driving; Jeep ad on pause

Springsteen was arrested Nov. 14 in a part of the Gateway National Recreation Area on the New Jersey coast, a spokesperson for the National Park Service confirmed Wednesday. Springsteen received citations for driving while under the influence, reckless driving and consuming alcohol in a closed area. While during Sunday's Super Bowl, he appeared in a Jeep ad filmed in Kansas that urged people to find common ground. But the company said, “it’s also right that we pause our Big Game commercial until the actual facts can be established."

Former southeast Michigan judge David Parrott loses appeal in drunk driving case
DETROIT – Former southeast Michigan judge, David Parrott, is fighting to the bitter end to remake Michigan drunk driving law. A Manistee County sheriff’s deputy arrested Parrott over the holidays in 2018 on drunk driving charges. This may be the most hotly contested misdemeanor drunk driving case in the state’s history. One that could require changing the drunk driving evidence rules. That means the prosecution of his drunk driving case will remain on hold.
Riverview man who allegedly held knife to girlfriend’s throat charged with domestic violence
RIVERVIEW, Mich. – Riverview resident Kyle Duke, 21, was arrested on Sunday for physically assaulting his 19-year-old girlfriend from Garden City. On Sunday at around 5 p.m. officers were called to an apartment complex in the 17000 block of Fort Street in Riverview. Duke allegedly repeatedly punched and kicked his girlfriend to prevent her from calling police for help. The victim stated that Duke held a knife to her throat. We’re grateful that the victim’s injuries were not more significant given the alleged involvement of a knife during the incident.

Person of interest arrested in Adrian double homicide
DETROIT – The bodies of two men were discovered at 10:30 p.m. Friday at a home in the 900 block of Frank Street in Adrian after police went there to complete a welfare check. A person of interest in the double homicide has been arrested. According to police, the person of interest fled the scene in a vehicle that later crashed. Police say the person of interest then ran away from the crash scene on foot and was taken into custody shortly afterward. Man arrested for indecent exposure at Rochester Hills Meijer
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – A 30-year-old Pontiac man was arrested for an incident of indecent exposure at a Rochester Hills Meijer that took place around 10:45 a.m. on Jan. 2, police say. According to police, three women made complaints stating they witnessed the suspect, David Dexter Watkins, expose his erect penis. Police say one of the woman had her 3-year-old daughter with her when the incident took place. In addition to charges of indecent exposure, Watkins had outstanding warrants for two separate incidents of resisting and obstruction, driving while license suspended, no operators license on person, and a license, title, registration violation. On Jan 5, the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office issued three counts of indecent exposure against Watkins.

Hazel Park man accused of attempting to sexually assault 17-year-old girl, police say
HAZEL PARK, Mich. – A 29-year-old Hazel Park man is accused of attacking a 17-year-old girl and trying to force her to have sex with him. The incident happened at about 9 p.m. Monday near Hazel Park High School. Police said the man approached the teen as she was walking and guided her to the baseball field of the high school where he tried to sexually assault her. Police said the teen pulled out a taser and struck the man twice. The man was later arrested at a nearby gas station.
