DETROITDetroit police are searching for a woman accused of driving up to her ex-boyfriend’s house and shooting him. They’re also searching for her accomplice, they said.

Officials said the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at a home in the 18000 block of Greely Street on Detroit’s east side.

Mareona Denise Waples, 29, is accused of driving to her ex-boyfriend’s home in a black Buick Lacrosse, along with two other men, officials said.

Police said as the Lacrosse pulled up, Waples fired several shots at her ex-boyfriend, striking him multiple times.

The victim returned fire, and the Lacrosse fled in an unknown direction, according to authorities.

Officials arrived at the scene and rendered first aid, including applying tourniquets to the man’s injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital.

Detroit police are searching for Waples and Mark Anthony Washington, 30, in connection with the incident. They are both considered armed and dangerous, and residents should not approach them, authorities said.

The Lacrosse had a license plate of “D0LF8CE,” police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s 11th Precinct’s Detective Bureau at 313-596-1140 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
