Police looking for 3 men who broke into beloved family-owned restaurant in Detroit

DETROIT – Police are looking for suspects that broke into a family-owned restaurant in Detroit early Monday morning.

Noni’s Sherwood Grille, located on Livernois between 8 Mile and 7 Mile Roads, caught thieves on multiple security cameras.

Three men used a crowbar to pry the restaurant’s back door to get inside around 3 a.m. on Monday.

Neighbors in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood expressed how upset they are as Noni’s Sherwood Grille is a popular meeting place for many.

“This would be one of the last places you would want to hit,” said Andrian Jones, a regular at the family-owned restaurant. “Because this is a neighborhood place. And if you mess with what happens in the neighborhood, then the neighborhood will start to fall apart. So you can not come and do damage to a place like this and expect that everything will go on like usual.”

If anyone has any information, please contact Detroit Police Department’s 12th Precinct at 313-596-1200.
