Cass Tech, Gucci partner to change cultural expectations
DETROIT – A mega-designer brand is getting some much-needed schooling from Detroit high school students. After a slip-up caused a storm of bad publicity, Gucci partnered with Cass Technical High School for a long-lasting relationship that will change cultural perceptions. In the spring of 2019, the luxury brand Gucci released a sweater that received backlash over its use of blackface. During this time, Gucci looked at Cass Tech in Detroit. AdIt turned into an opportunity for both Gucci and Cass Tech as meetings with students and collaborations have continued through the pandemic.
A new solution to helping kids have fun with science at home
To do this, the duo created a fun new experience in a box called The Lab Drawer. The goal of The Lab Drawer is to help kids have fun learning STEAM, or science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. The box is geared to kids aged 10-14 and according to Gabriel and Roberson, it helps kids connect the science they experience every day to scientific principles. Each box, which is delivered monthly and costs $44.99, involves a fun creative activity that kids can do. Besides the subscription, Gabriel and Roberson post fun experiments on their Tik Tok channel that kids can easily follow along at home.

DETROIT – If you’ve lived in Detroit long enough, chances are you’ve met someone who goes to or graduated from Cass Tech High School. Tucked away on a triangle piece of land is one of the most well-known high schools in all of Detroit. Big names like Shaun Robinson, Loni Love and Big Sean are just a few of the stars who are proud Cass Tech Alumni. “By supporting and encouraging and doing all the things necessary for students to matriculate here at Cass Tech,” said Monique Bryant. Since that time the School Board created and passed a school name change policy and it has not been used by stakeholders to initiate a name change for Cass Tech High School.

He has an honorary Cass Tech diploma and believes in the vision of the school and students. Evrod partnered with the school in efforts to raise funds, inspire students and support the school's fine arts program.

Cass Tech High School closed Tuesday due to busted cooling system, odor
DETROIT – Cass Tech High School is closed Tuesday due to an odor in the building caused by a broken cooling system pipe. School officials said they also must ensure a "comfortable temperature" with the warmer weather expected Tuesday. "Although maintenance crews have been working to repair the pipe, we cannot ensure a comfortable temperature with warmer weather expected and need additional time to remove the school's odor. Therefore, school will be cancelled today. We will update families, students and staff on the status of school later today," reads a statement from Chrystal Wilson, a spokeswoman for Detroit Public Schools Community District.
