JACKSON – State champions have been crowned in track, and of course congratulations to East Jackson hurdler Brynn Mericle for bringing home a state title in the 100 hurdles over the weekend. But with the state meets now behind us, that means it’s time to close the curtains on the track leaderboard for the 2022 season. Each athlete puts up their best marks in each event over the course of the season and we keep track of the best so far. If someone comes along with a better time, distance or height, that spot on the leaderboard changes hands. Each athlete’s best time so far this season counts and we figure out whose best is the best so far.
