According to police, a man and woman have barricaded themselves inside a home near Schaefer Highway and Vassar Drive in Detroit.

Imagine going in to buy groceries and then witnessing a man wrestle a gun away from an armed security guard.

According to Michigan State Police, on Saturday at around 11:50 p.m. Inkster officers were sent to the area of Hazelwood and Center after complaints over gunshots.

“We didn’t know if we were going to have to leave or how long we were going to have to stay in place,” Bowlby said. “It was just, it was very nerve racking. We didn’t know what was going on.”

Gunshots were fired on Friday at Briarwood Mall on Ann Arbor's southside, authorities say.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Police said a 16-year-old girl from Detroit is in a hospital after being shot in Southfield. Southfield police responded to reports of a shooting on Friday at 2:50 a.m. in the area of 8 Mile Road and Lahser Road. Officers found a 16-year-old Detroit girl in the back seat of the vehicle who was bleeding. Police said the investigation revealed that the girl had been shot by a known subject. Police said the girl is in stable condition at an area hospital.

PONTIAC, Mich. – Police are investigating a double shooting that happened Sunday and claimed the life of a young man. Officers spoke to a second victim who was at the hospital. The first victim, a 23-year-old Pontiac resident, was unresponsive as he was rushed into the emergency room. The second victim told deputies that he had driven them both to the hospital. They include a 28-year-old Pontiac resident and 24-year-old Pontiac resident.
