14-year-old injured in shooting on Detroit’s east side
DETROIT – A 14-year-old was injured in a shooting Friday on Detroit’s east side. The shooting happened on Houston Whittier Street. Police believe the shooting may be connected to a fight that happened earlier in the day. The teen is in critical condition. One person has been taken into custody.
5 people shot at rental hall on Detroit’s east side
DETROIT – Detroit police are investigating after five people were shot Thursday night at a rental hall on Detroit’s east side. The shooting was reported about 11:50 p.m. at D & C’s Hall Rental in the 15000 block of Houston Whittier Street near Hayes Street. The victims are two women, ages 26 and 27, and three men, ages 25, 31 and 34. Man injured in shooting near Houston Whittier Street, Kelly Road while walking dog, Detroit police say
DETROIT – Detroit police said a 26-year-old man walking his dog was injured in a shooting in the area of Houston Whittier Street and Kelly Road Sunday evening. Police said the victim was walking in a park at about 5:40 p.m. when an unknown individual fired multiple shots. The victim was taken to a hospital and listed in stable condition. Police are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting. Officials identify woman found dead in vehicle riddled with bullets on Detroit’s east side
DETROIT – Officials have identified the woman who was found dead early Tuesday in a bullet-riddled vehicle on Detroit’s east side. Vanita Denise Gray, 52, was shot multiple times at 1:34 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Hayes and Houston Whitter streets, according to authorities. She was found near Al’s Furniture, which was heavily damaged by bullets. A man was taken into custody, officials said.
