WASHINGTON โ Facing a slower-than-hoped coronavirus vaccine rollout, the Trump administration abruptly shifted gears Tuesday to speed the delivery of shots to more people. The move to increase the supply of vaccines better aligns the outgoing administration with the new Biden-Harris team. Some critics say the administration's planning should have extended into helping states administer the shots after they were delivered. Biden has set a goal of 100 million shots administered in his first 100 days. Local public health officials were surprised by Tuesdayโs announcement and scrambling to figure out how to implement the changes, said Adriane Casalotti of NACCHO, the National Association of County and City Health Officials.

Gore discovered a new form of a polymer in 1969 at a company lab in Newark, Delaware. Gore was born in Utah, the oldest of five children to Bill and Vieve Gore, who both founded the company in 1958. New Jersey law seeks to stem pollution in minority areas
Phil Murphy signed into law Friday a measure giving state regulators power to deny development permits to businesses whose operations pollute predominantly Black and other minority communities. He signed the bill alongside state lawmakers and U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, who has introduced similar legislation in Washington. Theyโre defined as census tracts where 35% of the population has low income, or where 40% of households are minority or have limited English proficiency. The law gives regulators the authority to deny permits in such instances for the first time. Current law applies broadly and makes it difficult to deny permits, according to state officials.

CBS 'optimistic' about fall lineup despite production halt

Pilots arrested in Scotland before US flight on suspicion of intoxication

Both pilots were "immediately removed from service," a United Airlines spokesman Jonathan Guerin said in a statement. We hold all of our employees to the highest standards and have a strict, no tolerance policy for alcohol," Guerin added. Flight UA162 was subsequently canceled after the arrests and passengers were provided with hotel and meal vouchers and were re-booked on alternate flights, United Airlines said. The arrest comes days after a Delta pilot was removed from an airplane at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport and arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol.
A 14-year-old US boy was headed to Sweden but ended up on a plane to Germany
(CNN) - A boarding gate mix-up almost landed a North Carolina teenager in Germany this week instead of Sweden. However, he boarded a flight by Eurowings, a German airline, which had a plane at the gate, United said in a statement. It is unclear why Anton was able to get on the Eurowings flight and whether he had a boarding pass. "When somebody says unaccompanied minor, wrong airplane, wrong country, everybody should've stepped up and done something," Brenda Berg told the Raleigh station. United said in a statement that it has refunded the $150 unaccompanied minor fee to the family.
