ANN ARBOR, MI -- The Ann Arbor community came and supported a local non-profit, Survivors Speak, as they added their first mural in Ann Arbor to Gallup Park. Following two murals in Ypsilanti, the Survivors Speak organization set their sights on Ann Arbor for their next project.

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI - Washtenaw County has spent roughly $31,000 for emergency housing and other services for domestic violence survivors who said they were displaced or refused housing at an Ann Arbor domestic violence shelter currently under investigation from an outside attorney. Those emergency relief efforts come alongside at least $330,000 in planned repairs and upgrades to the county building housing SafeHouse Center, a nonprofit abuse shelter that came under fire earlier this year for its treatment of survivors.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Detroit held a webinar Friday with sextortion survivors, their parents, experts and law enforcement officials. “Sextortion” is a type of online child exploitation. Blockers and filters are another way to prevent your child from harmful content and predators lurking online.
