Flooding closed both sides of M-59 in Sterling Heights on Friday morning. The freeway has since reopened on both sides. A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for Macomb County until 10:15 a.m. on Friday.

DETROIT – A planned march against police brutality in Detroit on Friday will close the Belle Isle bridge for several hours. DETROIT Both sides of I-75 near I-94 will be closed in Detroit this weekend as crews demolish a bridge originally constructed in 1969. During the closure, the posted detour for northbound I-75 follows westbound I-94, northbound M-10 (Lodge Freeway), and eastbound M-8 back to northbound I-75. Southbound I-75 traffic will use westbound M-8 to southbound M-10, back to southbound I-75. All ramps, except for Holbrook Avenue to southbound I-75, will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, June 1. In addition, crews will close the left lane on southbound I-75 from Clay Street to Piquette Avenue starting at 9 a.m. Friday to mobilize demolition equipment.

DEARBORN, Mich. – A 12-year-old boy suffered critical injuries during a crash Friday morning on eastbound I-94 in Dearborn. Two lanes on eastbound I-94 have been blocked for hours near Schaefer Highway. Police said the Chrysler crashed into the truck when the truck was getting up to speed when entering eastbound I-94 from Schaefer Highway. The female driver of the Chrysler suffered serious injuries to her legs, police said. The truck driver was not hurt.

ALLEN PARK, Mich. – The Southbound side of the Southfield Freeway (M-39) is closed at Outer Drive due to flooding in Allen Park. Wayne County said earlier that the Ecorse Creek has overflowed causing surface flooding on roadways. It’s unclear how long the freeway will remain closed. The freeway flooded in 2019 and was closed for days following heavy rains. North and Southbound Southfied Freeway is being closed for flooding at Outer Drive in Allen Park.
