Holland man, 36, killed in Ottawa County crash
OTTAWA COUNTY, MI — A Holland man was killed early Thursday morning after crashing into a tree in Holland Township. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash on Douglas Avenue, near Van Dyke Street, at 3:02 a.m., Thursday, June 23. Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office and AMR and Holland Township fire personnel performed life-saving measures on the driver, a 36-year-old man, but were not successful. The crash is currently under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – Through a partnership with SMART, Macomb County is offering a new vaccination location in Sterling Heights. The vaccination site is at the Sterling Heights Senior Center on Utica Road, between Schoenherr and Van Dyke roads. It’s why the Macomb County Health Department partnered with SMART to help distribute the coronavirus vaccine. Macomb County executive Mark Hackel said the new site is currently dedicated to vaccinating Macomb County residents and workers who are 60-years-old and older. Detroit police: Man falls asleep driving, strikes police cruiser
DETROIT – A collision on Detroit’s east side sent two police officers to the hospital Saturday night. According to authorities, a man was driving northbound on Gratiot Avenue near Van Dyke when his vehicle struck a Detroit Police Department cruiser that was in the turn lane, before hitting the side of a building. Police said they believe the driver fell asleep while driving home from work. The two police officers that were in the cruiser checked on the driver before being taken to the hospital. Road rage shooting on Detroit’s east side critically injuries 50-year-old man
DETROIT – Police are investigating a road rage incident on Detroit’s east side Friday that put a 50-year-old man in the hospital with critical injuries. Police said an argument between a 50-year-old man and a 31-year-old man escalated into gunfire being exchanged between the two. The 50-year-old man was struck and and was rushed to a hospital, where he is in critical condition. The 31-year-old man was taken in to be questioned by police. More: Detroit crime news
