Ann Arbor to resume ice skating programs at city parks with COVID-19 precautions
ANN ARBOR, MI — Ann Arbor has announced plans to resume ice skating programs at city parks, with some COVID-19 precautions in place. Registration is underway for instructional skating programs beginning Wednesday, Jan. 20, at the Veterans Memorial Park Indoor Ice Arena, and open skating resumes at the Buhr Park Outdoor Ice Arena on Thursday. Beginning Thursday, skaters also can pre-register for open skating at Burh Park at www.a2gov.org/parksregister. Time slots for open skating include 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Thursdays, 7:15-8:15 p.m. on Fridays, 2-3 p.m. on Saturdays and 3:45-4:45 p.m. on Sundays. Veterans Memorial Park Indoor Ice Arena reopens for lessons, hockey
The Veterans Memorial Park Indoor Ice Arena is reopening for limited skating lessons and adult recreational hockey for the 2020-21 season. The ice arena will offer lessons at four levels: Snow Plow Sam, Basic Skills, Freestyle and Adult Instructional. Team play is governed by USA Hockey/MAHA regulations, costs $5,000 per team and players must have USA Hockey insurance. Learn more about recreational hockey registration here.
