Northern Michigan, 3-7, took a 7-6 lead into halftime, with Tyshon King scoring on an 80-yard run for NMU. SVSU countered with a 1-yard TD run by Penn transfer Isaiah Malcome. The Cardinals took a 20-7 lead into the fourth quarter after scoring on a 1-yard run by Eastern Michigan transfer Jarius Grissom and a 1-yard TD run by Portage Northern grad Tyler Amos.
