Detroit man charged with murder in MotorCity Casino parking garage shooting
DETROIT โ A Detroit man has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a Clinton Township man who was arguing with his girlfriend in the parking garage of the MotorCity Casino, officials said. Detroit police officers said they were called at 1:48 a.m. Sunday (March 21) to the second level of the MotorCity Casino parking structure. AdAccording to investigators, McCants and his 25-year-old girlfriend had been arguing in the parking structure when White intervened. A verbal argument between McCants and White escalated, and White pulled out a gun and shot McCants, police said. He was arrested Monday (March 22), according to Detroit officials.

Many Michigan businesses waiting to reopen despite greenlight from state
Gretchen Whitmer along with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services announced both are ready to start reopening a lot of businesses Monday. Whitmer is now allowing movie going to a point limited to roughly 30 people in an auditorium. โSo the big thing is to get all or our team members back and tested so weโre working with the city health department,โ he said. DETROIT โ The three casinos in Detroit can open Aug. 5. Tribal casinos, which are not regulated by the state, have already reopened and have been operating safely, Michigan Gov. The reception was in violation of Whitmerโs order limiting the number of people attending indoor events, county officials said. โThe safety and protection of Wayne County residents is our top priority,โ said Carol Austerberry, county health officer. In Gladwin County in central Michigan, health officials reported at least 42 cases linked to The Spring Ministries summer camp.

There will be plexiglass dividers as casinos try to keep the environment as safe as possible. Detroits casinos are limited to 15% capacity when they reopen, which equates to about 1,600 people at a time for Motor City Casino. Were going to do everything to make sure that there is nobody in here who can transmit it, casino President Bruce Dall said. There wont be any eating inside the casino because you have to lower your mask, Dall said.

According to MGM Midwest COO and President David Tsai, only 40 percent of slot machines will be left running. All of it is costing MGM, and by way of tax dollars, the City of Detroit and the state, millions of dollars. Tsai, who has been with MGM for 13 years said he oversaw the reopening of other casinos in Ohio just last week. He saidWe have Detroit residents currently going to Michigan tribal casinos or casinos in Ohio and Indiana that dont have the level of requirements that we have, he said. The hotel will not be ready to open whenever the casino is allowed to open its doors.
