Police search for driver who left the scene after moped crash in Hazel Park

Police say the moped colliding with the vehicle when the driver turned in front of him

HAZEL PARK, Mich. – Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a driver who left the scene after a crash involving a moped in Hazel Park.

The incident happened at about 9 p.m. on March 25. Police said the 44-year-old man on the moped was traveling through a green light southbound on John R Road at Nine Mile Road when he collided with a red four-door Sedan that turned in front of him.

Police said the driver of the Sedan was traveling northbound when they turned left and continued westbound on Nine Mile Road.

The moped driver was taken to a hospital and treated for broken bones and lacerations.

The red Sedan is described as missing a passenger side window and possibly having damage along the passenger side.
