ALLEGAN, MI -- A person died following a collision between a motorcycle and SUV near Wayland, police said. The collision happened about 3:40 p.m. Friday, June 3 on Patterson Road south of 136th Avenue in Allegan County. Allegan County sheriff’s deputies said the SUV was gong south and it’s believed the SUV driver turned east in front of the northbound motorcycle. HAZEL PARK, Mich. – Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a driver who left the scene after a crash involving a moped in Hazel Park. Police said the driver of the Sedan was traveling northbound when they turned left and continued westbound on Nine Mile Road. The moped driver was taken to a hospital and treated for broken bones and lacerations. The red Sedan is described as missing a passenger side window and possibly having damage along the passenger side. RJ was critically injured in a crash when he stopped Tuesday to help two women on the side of Northwestern Highway. “He’s been telling everyone he was just trying to help,” Kendrick recalled. He was helping when another driver tried to squeeze by on the shoulder, striking RJ and one of the women. “There is a possibility if he wasn’t there, she would not have made it.”RJ was critically injured and remains in the ICU following surgery.

Detroit police: Man falls asleep driving, strikes police cruiser
DETROIT – A collision on Detroit’s east side sent two police officers to the hospital Saturday night. According to authorities, a man was driving northbound on Gratiot Avenue near Van Dyke when his vehicle struck a Detroit Police Department cruiser that was in the turn lane, before hitting the side of a building. Police said they believe the driver fell asleep while driving home from work. The two police officers that were in the cruiser checked on the driver before being taken to the hospital. DETROIT – Police said two people are in critical condition after a Detroit collision that involved children. According to authorities, the collision happened at about 3:45 p.m. Friday when a 58-year-old woman driving a Chevrolet down Grand River Avenue attempted to pass a vehicle on the right, where she read-ended a Ford Escape near Southfield Road. The driver of the Ford is expected to be OK, but the driver of the Chevrolet was critically injured. DETROIT – A father in Detroit was seriously injured and requires several surgeries after a speeding car struck his vehicle. The family said the collision happened at the intersection of McGraw Avenue and Tarnow Street. They said he was sitting in his car and was about to get something to eat when the people speed racing lost control. “He was going to Detroit to actually take a part to his friend’s house, so he can fix his car.
