Police search for driver who left the scene after moped crash in Hazel Park
HAZEL PARK, Mich. – Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a driver who left the scene after a crash involving a moped in Hazel Park. Police said the driver of the Sedan was traveling northbound when they turned left and continued westbound on Nine Mile Road. The moped driver was taken to a hospital and treated for broken bones and lacerations. The red Sedan is described as missing a passenger side window and possibly having damage along the passenger side. 2-year construction project on Gratiot Avenue begins Monday in Roseville
ROSEVILLE, Mich. – A 2-year project on Gratiot Avenue in Macomb County will begin Monday. According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, more than three miles of Gratiot Avenue in Roseville will be rebuilt. Construction will focus on the stretch between 11 Mile and Common roads in 2021 and is expected to work between Common and 14 Mile roads in 2022. On the northbound side, the left lane will be closed from Frazho to Common roads and on the southbound side, the left lane will be closed from Common to 11 Mile roads. Vehicle crashes into fire hydrant along Schoenherr Road in Shelby Township
SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Both directions of Schoenherr Road were closed Wednesday night between 21 Mile and 22 Mile roads in Shelby Township for emergency repairs after a vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant. There were no serious injuries reported. The crash caused a sinkhole, shutting down the road for emergency repairs. The road remained closed Thursday morning. Michigan State Police: Speed, alcohol were factors in crash that killed 3 people on I-94 in Detroit
DETROIT – Michigan State Police said speed and alcohol were factors in a two-vehicle crash that left three people dead on eastbound Interstate 94 in Detroit. That’s not tragic, that’s stupidity,” said MSP Lt. Mike Shaw. State police said the driver of a Chevy Camaro was speeding when he rear-ended a Mercury SUV heading in the same direction. “This is one crime we can make go away today if people did not get behind the wheel impaired,” Shaw said. “There’s two families, three families out there that possibly will never have the same experience in life again because their loved one is gone,” Shaw said.

Section of Liberty Street to close in Ann Arbor Thursday through Saturday
ANN ARBOR – If you’re driving in the downtown area, you’ll want to avoid the intersection of Liberty and First streets for the next couple of days. Liberty Street will be near the intersection of First Street starting at 7 a.m. on Thursday for road paving. Cars traveling on Liberty westbound will be detoured south onto Main Street, west onto William Street and north onto Second Street and then back onto Liberty. Cars traveling eastbound will be detoured south onto Second Street, east onto William Street, north onto Ashley Street and then back onto Liberty. Traffic between First and Main streets, Second and First streets and pedestrian traffic on one side of the street will be maintained.
Driver in custody after crashing into bus shelter, man in wheelchair in Detroit
DETROIT Police said a driver lost control of his vehicle at Dexter and Davison on Detroits west side and crashed into a bus shelter on Wednesday night. After crashing into the bus shelter, he struck a man in a wheelchair. The 54-year-old was taken to a hospital and listed in critical condition. The driver was taken into custody.
