FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Steven Douglas Bails, Narena Bails, Sierra Bemis and Alexander Feko have been sentenced for their role in the murder of a woman at the abandoned Boysville Facility in Frenchtown Township.

The body of Kayla Sedoskey was found at the abandoned facility in March 2023. She had been shot to death. Her ex-boyfriend, Bails, reportedly conspired with others to kill her after multiple arguments. He was convicted of first-degree murder in March and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

He was one of six people arrested and charged in Sedoskey’s murder.

Narena Bails testified against her husband during his trial and pled no contest to second-degree murder. She was sentenced to 13-30 years in prison.

Sierra Bemis also testified against Steven Bails after she pled no contest to second-degree murder. She was also sentenced to more than 18-30 years in prison.

Alexander Feko was sentenced to 5 to 10 years after pleading guilty to tampering with evidence and three counts of accessory after the fact to a felony. He also testified against Steven Bails. Police said he got rid of the gun after the murder.

According to authorities, Sedoskey was lured to the abandoned Boysville facility by co-defendant Brin Smith, where she was killed. Authorities said Seven Bails, Bemis and Kaylyn Marie Ramsey were waiting at the facility when Sedoskey and Smith arrived. She was shot three times. The motive was unclear, but authorities believe that it could have been a “wedding present” for Narena Bails from Steven Bails.

Smith and Ramsey are expected to be sentenced May 30.
