Driver killed in high-speed crash on Detroit’s west side
DETROIT – Investigators said a driver was killed Tuesday night in a vehicle crash in the middle of a neighborhood on Detroit’s west side. The crash happened in the area of Burt Road and Florence Street. The driver was speeding when he hit another vehicle and was ejected from the car. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The occupants in the other vehicle are OK.Watch the report in the video above.
2 people shot near Schoolcraft, Burt Road in Detroit
DETROIT The Detroit Police Department is investigating a shooting Wednesday night near Schoolcraft and Burt Road that left two people in serious and critical condition. Detroit police said a preliminary investigation determined the 28-year-old male driver and 25-year-old female passenger stopped at a stoplight at about 8 p.m. on Schoolcraft and Burt Road when a white Sudan pulled beside the vehicle. An unknown suspect inside the Sudan fired shots at the two victims before taking off. The male victim was listed in critical condition and the female victim was listed in temporary serious condition. 15-year-old boy shot outside Detroit home, police say
DETROIT Police are investigating a shooting on Detroits west side that occurred early Saturday morning. According to police a 15-year-old boy was on the side of a house in the 19800 block of Burt Road when a dark colored Dodge Charger approached. Police say the passenger in the vehicle allegedly asked the boy a question and then fired a shot, striking him. The boy was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition, officials said. Police say the passenger and alleged shooter is described as a Black man standing between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6 feet tall with a heavy build.
Southfield police: Man robbed, carjacked while walking to apartment building
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - A 25-year-old man was robbed by two armed suspects last night around 10 p.m. on Lahser Road, according to Southfield police. The victim was walking to an apartment complex when approached by the two suspects one a 25-year-old man and the second an unidentified male who the police believe is also in his mid-twenties, according to the release. The suspects took the victim's black Chevrolet Equinox. The car was later found around 12:30 a.m. near Fenkell Avenue and Burt Road in Detroit after a police chase.
