But Berlin general manager Jeff Striegle said there was one role that fit Keen best of all. “During his time at the Berlin Raceway, George was a driver, a car owner, he was a broadcaster on radio with his own racing show, all of which was designed to promote and enhance the Berlin Raceway,” Striegle said. “George has been a fixture at the Berlin Raceway for decades in a variety of different capacities, and his dedication to this track is unmatched. Keen, who is survived by his wife Mickey and three children, most recently worked at Berlin on July 31 before becoming ill.

DETROIT – A Michigan pharmacist and pharmacy technician have been charged in a conspiracy in which they are accused of illegally distributing more than $1.2 million worth of prescription drugs. Cosmos George, 46, of Southfield and Tarielle Dixon, 33, of Detroit have both been charged in the scheme, Acting U.S. Attorney Saima Mohsin announced Thursday. Both George and Dixon dispensed addictive and highly diverted prescriptions, including oxycodone and oxymorphone, for the same opioid distribution ring, according to the indictment. Those specific drugs are two of the most addictive opioids that have high black market resale values, according to prosecutors. The indictment further alleges that the pharmacies dispensed more than 41,995 dosage units of Schedule II opioid prescriptions during the alleged conspiracy.

George's Prepared Foods, the company that produces Walmart's Great Value frozen, fully cooked meat, said that the products were meant to be disposed of after a small group of them tested positive for salmonella but were accidentally shipped nationwide. M2206T" or "P-2260T" are printed on the recalled products' packaging. There haven't been any illnesses reported yet, but George's and the USDA urge consumers to throw away or return the recalled products. The most common symptoms include diarrhea, fever and cramps, which typically last up to a week, the USDA said.

Lucy Lanigan-OKeeffe, the assistant head teacher at George's school in London, is marrying their dad's life-long friend, Thomas van Straubenzee. Charlotte will also start attending the school, Thomas' Battersea School, later this year. Van Straubenzee and his younger brother, Charlie, both served as ushers at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding last year. Macomb County couple sentenced for keeping woman in shed, selling her for sex
MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Macomb County couple was sentenced Thursday for keeping a woman with mental and physical disabilities in a shed and selling her online for sex. Investigators said Misty George, 30, and her boyfriend, Mike Welch, 38, kept the 29-year-old woman in a shed next to their trailer in Macomb Township. They used her to generate money online by selling her for sex, police said. George was charged with human trafficking -- forced labor, using a computer to commit a crime and accepting earnings from prostitution. Nobody said they saw the 29-year-old woman the couple is accused of keeping locked in the shed.
