Northville Public Schools is warning parents about a major construction project that will coincide with the city’s first week of school. The project will transform the intersection connecting 7 Mile Road with Sheldon Road and Center Street into a single-lane roundabout.

A $140 million project to reconstruct M-14/I-96 in Wayne County begins at the end of this month and drivers will have to navigate lane and ramp closures.

A 3-year reconstruction project on M-14 and I-96 began this weekend with road closures between Sheldon and Newburgh roads in Wayne County.

According to police, Dominic Duhn, of Northville Township, was struck and killed at about 11:37 p.m. on Sept. 3 while skateboarding on Sheldon Road, south of Six Mile Road. Witnesses described the vehicle traveling from Six Mile Road south on Sheldon Road before the crash, police said. The vehicle was described as a white or silver sedan last seen traveling south on Sheldon Road toward Five Mile Road.
