GROSSE POINTE WOODS, Mich. โ A letter was sent out to parents of students at Parcells Middle School regarding a suspicious man who approached a student Thursday. The school said the man was in a white windowless utility van and asked if the child wanted a ride home. The letter sent to parents urges them to review all safety precautions with their children and to urge them to be cautious in any situation that feels uncomfortable or dangerous. โPlease be sure that your children know to report any incident immediately to an adult,โ the letter concludes. โOur most important priority, like yours, is keeping our students safe.โAdAnyone with information should call the Grosse Pointe Woods Department of Public Safety at 313-343-2400.
Police search for man who tried to lure 2 children toward vehicle in Ypsilanti
YPSILANTI, Mich. โ Police are searching for a man who tried to lure two children toward his vehicle in Ypsilanti, officials said. The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of Westmoreland Street, according to police. The man was driving a newer model Honda CRV when he approached two children slowly in the SUV and tried to talk to them, authorities said. When the children ignored him, he tried to gain their trust by pretending to know one of their parents and calling them over, police said. The children continued to ignore the man and made it home, officials said.

The Farmington Hills Police Department is investigating a report of a suspicious person who approached a child on Sunday at around 4 p.m. in the area of Dohany Drive in a subdivision between Power Road and Ten Mile Road. The child refused and left the area to contact a parent who called 911. The child reported that the man drove away as he left the area. FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. โ Police in Farmington Hills are working to track down a person who is suspected of following a child home Monday evening in the area of Willow Lane and List Street. Police said a report was made about a โsuspicious personโ who followed the child home about 4:30 p.m. The child got off of a bus and was followed home from the bus stop by the unknown person on foot, according to the police report.
