Shockers solidifying shaky spot in NCAA Tournament field
It was their eighth victory this season by five points or fewer, and their highest-ranked victim at home since beating No. Suddenly, a program that began the season in turmoil is on the right side of the NCAA Tournament bubble. At one point the Ducks had six of seven games postponed by COVID-19, and that streak ended with an ugly loss to Washington State. But they followed with five straight wins, including one over fellow bubble-dweller Colorado, heading into an important game against No. That makes their game against Oregon on Thursday night crucial for helping out a shaky resume.

The Tulsa event was scheduled over the protests of local health officials as COVID-19 cases spiked in many states. Trump's campaign declared that it had received over 1 million ticket requests. Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh, dismissing the potential impact, said "leftists always fool themselves into thinking theyre being clever'' and he noted that rallies are general admission, with first-come-first served.
Thousands headed to indoor Trump rally, raising virus fears
I think there's no question that indoor events are more risky than outdoor events. Lessler said large events like the rally or the protests have the potential to be super spreader events, but their potential to drive the pandemic is short-lived. Attendees will also undergo a temperature check, but there will be no required social distancing at the indoor event expected to be at capacity. Trump also plans an outdoor event, and officials are expecting about 100,000 people to converge on the city. California health officials have reported so far only a few people attending the demonstrations have tested positive for COVID-19, but contact tracing anyone they have infected is proving to be futile.

How black history is taught in schools faces new scrutiny
The states new standards are going out to schools as a national conversation on racial injustice brings new scrutiny to how African American history is taught nationwide. There is no national curriculum or set of standards for teaching black history in America. A University of Texas professor involved in developing the curriculum, Kevin Cokley, said his college students say they are taught a sanitized version of black history in high school. King provided training last year for 300 educators around the country who are interested in teaching black history. The push for diversity in education so far has led to mostly cosmetic changes, he said, without enough emphasis on the entry points and perspective of black history.

Meanwhile, many leaders in the city's black community have lashed out at Trump's visit as provocative after the death of black Minneapolis resident George Floyd and mass protests around the world. And the head of the Oklahoma Republican Party, David McLain, insisted the rally can be safe.
