2 women killed in crash at Joy Road, Trinity Street in Detroit
DETROIT – Two women were killed Monday morning when their vehicle struck a utility pole at Joy Road and Trinity Street in Detroit. Police said the women were traveling in a 2005 Saab when the vehicle left the road and hit the pole. It’s unclear what caused this deadly crash. No other injuries have been reported. It remains under investigation.

Woman, 33, accused of stealing package of gifts for families in need from Detroit home
DETROIT – A woman accused of stealing a package of gifts from the front porch of a Detroit home has been arrested. Harris says the package was not for her, but rather included gifts for families in need who she is helping this holiday season. It finally came and it was stolen,” Harris said. Detroit police have since arrested 33-year-old Sade Scott, who is believed to have stolen Harris’ package.
Driver arrested in Detroit crash that killed 6-year-old boy
DETROIT – Two employees at a car repair shop witnessed the violent traffic crash that killed a 6-year-old boy on Detroit’s west side Monday night. According to police, a woman driving an SUV with the boy and three other children collided with another SUV near Joy Road and Artesian Street. The 6-year-old boy, one of the son’s friends, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The woman driving the SUV, along with the man driving the other SUV, were also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The woman driving the SUV has been taken into police custody and is awaiting charges.
Video shows shooting that injured 6 outside Detroit strip club
DETROIT – Surveillance video shows part of a shooting that erupted early Monday morning outside of a strip club in Detroit. Six people were shot outside The Sting strip club on Michigan Avenue. The video shows two men, one wearing blue and the other in white, firing gunshots at each other. Four men and two women were shot outside the club. More: Detroit crime news
House destroyed in explosion on Detroit’s west side
DETROIT – A house was destroyed Saturday afternoon on Detroit’s west side in a potential gas explosion. The house was located on LaBelle Street, near 14th Street and Oakman Boulevard. Authorities are searching to find the woman who resided there and trying to determine if she was home at the time of the explosion. 3 killed, one injured in shooting inside restaurant on Detroit’s west side
DETROIT – Three people were killed and one person was injured in a shooting Sunday night inside a restaurant on Detroit’s west side. UPDATE: Detroit man charged with first-degree murder after Coney Island shooting killed 3, injured 1It happened around 11 p.m. Sunday at A Eagles Coney Island on Dexter Avenue near Joy Road. Police do not think this was a random shooting. They believe there was a fight or some kind of altercation leading up to the shooting. They are reviewing surveillance video from inside the restaurant.
Detroit Police searching for hit-and-run driver in serious crash
DETROIT Detroit Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver involved in a crash on Detroits west side. It happened around 2 a.m. Friday at 7 Mile and Mansfield. Two children, two adults injured in house fire on Detroits west side
Authorities are investigating a house fire on Pearson Street in the area of Joy Road and Evergreen. Sources told Local 4 four people have been taken to the hospital. 16-year-old boy shot at White Castle on Detroit’s west side
DETROIT – A 16-year-old boy was shot Wednesday morning at a White Castle restaurant in the 8800 block of Greenfield Road. The restaurant is at the northwest corner of Greenfield and Joy roads. The boy is expected to survive gunshot wounds. His exact condition is not known at this time. Detroit police are working to find out what led to this shooting and who is responsible.
