Man found dead on shoulder of SB I-275 near Eureka Road
A man has been found dead Tuesday night on the shoulder of Interstate 275 near Eureka Road, police said. A vehicle was found in the area. Police are investigating the circumstance of the manโs death and whether the vehicle is related. The southbound side of I-275 was shut down Tuesday night near Eureka Road. 3 men in custody after multi-vehicle crash in Romulus
ROMULUS, Mich. โ Three men are in custody after a multi-vehicle crash in Romulus. Michigan State Police were called to the area of I-275 and Eureka Road on the report of a three-vehicle hit-and-run crash. Police said a black Chrysler 300 crashed in the middle of Eureka Road, over I-275. A trooper at the scene approached the car, opened the rear passenger door and found a man with a loaded .233 pistol. A Romulus officer removed the front-seat passenger and located a loaded 9mm pistol in his waistband.
Taylor police: Barricaded situation has ended
TAYLOR, Mich. โ Several units of an apartment building were evacuated Wednesday morning due to a barricaded gunman situation in Taylor. Update 10 a.m.: This barricaded situation has ended, police said. Police said it all started about 2 a.m. with a domestic dispute between a man and a woman in a relationship. She was being held by Taylor police for questioning. Police said they were in no rush because of the 1-year-old child being involved.
9 people, including 7 children, injured in 2-vehicle crash in Romulus
ROMULUS, Mich. โ Nine people, seven of them being children ages of 7-12, were injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday at Eureka Road and Brandt Street, Romulus police said. Police responded at about 5:50 p.m. to the crash involving a gold Chevy Equinox and a white Chevy Impala. The nine people are being treated at a hospital. The crash is under investigation. Anyone with information or witnessed the crash is asked to contact Romulus Police Department accident investigators at 734-955-8815.
2 charged in connection with fatal shooting of Romulus man at gas station
ROMULUS, Mich. Two people have been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Brian Eugene Davis, 40, of Romulus. Davis was shot and killed on May 19 at 8:35 p.m. in Romulus. Police officers were called to a gas station in the 27400 block of Eureka Road near Inkster Road. When officers arrived they saw the Romulus Fire Department rescue and Taylor rescue teams on scene. Officials said Davis approached the defendants vehicle and McMillon, who was a passenger, pulled out a weapon and shot Davis.
Section of Eureka Road in Taylor closed due to downed power line, standing water
TAYLOR, Mich. - Eureka Road between Beech Daly Road and Inkster Road is closed due to a downed power line and standing water, according to Taylor police. Police said there is several feet of water.
