Human trafficking survivor wants to help others identify warning signs

A woman who was trafficked starting at the age of 12 and survived 18 years of sexual abuse is sharing her story.

D'lynn wants to tell her story so the system can be changed and human trafficking victims can be saved. She said her story began when she was 12 years old and ran away from her home just outside of Seattle.

Ex-state trooper sentenced

A jury found former Michigan State Police Trooper Mark Bessner guilty April 17 of a lesser charge of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of Detroit teen Damon Grimes.

On Monday, Bessner was sentenced to five to 15 years in prison. Judge Margaret Van Houten said 15 years is the maximum sentencing Bessner can face.
