Rock purists will have just finished arguing “hip hop isn’t rock and roll” during Jay-Z’s induction on Oct. 30 when they’ll face another annoyance. Eminem becomes eligible for the Rock Hall next year and is sure to make the ballot in early 2022. “Just like any artist must evolve in their career, so should the Hall of Fame,” John Sykes, chairman of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, told Billboard in May. Should Marshall Mathers be inducted next year, it would mark a turning point for the Rock Hall that goes beyond hip hop. Under the leadership of Sykes, the face of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is changing.

DETROIT – PETA has placed a billboard near the scene where a semi-truck carrying 38 cows crashed in February. It has since been gone up at 1313 E. Milwaukee Street northeast of the crash site in Detroit. PETA says the billboard, which features a cow with the message “See the Individual. Go Vegan,” is a memorial to the cows who were “shot dead” after the crash. “Cows are gentle giants who have thoughts and feelings just like anyone else,” said PETA President Ingrid Newkirk.

Lizzo's single "Truth Hurts" has garnered the musician her first-ever number one spot on Billboard magazine's Hot 100 record chart. The singer, songwriter and rapper recently showed footage of none other than music legend Beyonc getting down at one of her concerts. Billboard also reported that Taylor Swift's new album "Lover" earned her the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The album includes the LGBTQ-themed song "You Need to Calm Down," which also made waves at the VMAs.
