What is your favorite school subject? A sophomore at Cass Technical High School, Vesprini is an accomplished violinist and vocalist. “One of my favorite violin experiences was performing at Carnegie Hall with my Music School Touring group,” she said. Incorporating her love for music, she virtually assists other young violinists by practicing with them to ensure they stay entertained and motivated. “I will soon be expanding my program to be able to children all over Michigan.”Outside of working with her program, Vesprini participates in the Co-Ette Club.
Cass Tech, Gucci partner to change cultural expectations
DETROIT – A mega-designer brand is getting some much-needed schooling from Detroit high school students. After a slip-up caused a storm of bad publicity, Gucci partnered with Cass Technical High School for a long-lasting relationship that will change cultural perceptions. In the spring of 2019, the luxury brand Gucci released a sweater that received backlash over its use of blackface. During this time, Gucci looked at Cass Tech in Detroit. AdIt turned into an opportunity for both Gucci and Cass Tech as meetings with students and collaborations have continued through the pandemic.

How Wayne County icon Judge Strong has impacted Detroit

Local singer Rio Souma “cruises” on ‘The Voice’
But, where you’re good, you’re good! One Detroiter recently showed exactly how good he is when he performed Smokey Robinson’s classic song “Cruisin” during the blind auditions on “The Voice”. Rio Souma joined Tati Amare to discuss his show-stopping performance that literally turned the heads of three of the show’s coaches. Souma also shared some of his musical background, including his time at Cass Technical High School and being a member of the Detroit Mosaic Youth Theater. Detroit public schools police officer hospitalized after being pinned by car
DETROIT – A Detroit public schools police officer has been rushed to the hospital after being hit by a car that was doing donuts. It happened Tuesday night in the parking lot of Cass Technical High School. Officials aid a green Dodge Charger was doing donuts in the parking lot. Officers initiated a traffic stop and when an officer stepped out of the vehicle to approach the Charger, the suspect vehicle allegedly pinned the officer against the police cruiser. The driver is in police custody and the passenger of that vehicle is being questioned by police.
