Man charged in Ferndale shooting of 19-year-old woman
According to police, on April 30 at around 2:15 a.m. dispatch received several 911 calls about shots being fired in the 300 block of West Bennett in Ferndale. When officers arrived to the scene they discovered a 19-year-old Ferndale woman who had been shot several times. Ferndale detectives spent several months investigating this incident and compiling evidence. Physical evidence linked the case to another shooting that happened in West Bloomfield on June 17, where an arrest was made. Ferndale detectives were able to identify the same suspect was responsible in the Ferndale shooting.
Driver in critical condition after crashing into bridge, tree in Ferndale
FERNDALE, Mich. A Redford woman is in critical condition after crashing a vehicle into a bridge and tree in Ferndale early Wednesday morning. Ferndale police say at about 2:30 a.m. the 40-year-old woman crashed into the bridge at Eight Mile Road and Woodward Avenue, and then struck a tree. The driver was taken to the hospital and listed in critical condition. Officials say the woman may have suffered from a medical condition. No roads have been closed due to the incident.
Ferndale police seek ‘garage thief’, warn against leaving garages open amid nice weather
FERNDALE, Mich. – Ferndale police are looking to identify and locate a person in connection with theft from a resident’s garage on Wednesday. Anyone with information regarding the wanted person (pictured above) can contact the Ferndale Police Department at 248-541 3650. Police say they responded to multiple daytime thefts from open garages on Wednesday. Lawn equipment and bikes were stolen, officials said. Police are encouraging residents to close garage doors as weather improves in the state to prevent theft.
