Michigan woman who caused head-on crash had BAC 5 times over legal limit, police say
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, MI – A Michigan woman who caused a head-on crash had a BAC almost five times over the legal limit. Troopers from the Michigan State Police responded to the two-vehicle crash, which occurred near the intersection of Garfield Road and Mayfield Road in Grand Traverse County’s Paradise Township at 1:37 p.m. on Thursday. An Initial investigation revealed a 39-year-old Traverse City woman was traveling northbound on Garfield Road when she crossed over the center line and into oncoming traffic. One vehicle traveling southbound on Garfield Road was able to swerve into the ditch to avoid the vehicle, but a second vehicle was struck head-on, police said. A report is being provided to the Grand Traverse County Prosecutor’s Office for review, police said.
