The ice floe had broken off near Catawba Island, close to the Lake Erie islands. No one who was rescued from the ice floe needed medical attention, according to the Coast Guard. The National Weather Service’s Cleveland office sent out a warning on Twitter Saturday night, urging people to stay off the Lake Erie ice Sunday because of increasing winds. You are urged to stay off the ice on Lake Erie as there is the possibility that the ice will drift away from shore.

As of 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Ann Arbor Road in Plymouth Township was still blocked off. The Plymouth Township Fire Chief said the overpass was covered in ice, which is what caused the crash. The victims, a father and son, were transported to an area hospital. The father and son were rescued by a Michigan State Police trooper and a man who was passing by.
32-year-old hospitalized after overnight shooting in Detroit, police say
DETROIT – A 32-year-old man was shot at 3 a.m. on Friday in Detroit, police said. It happened in the 18900 block of West 7 Mile Road. A Good Samaritan transported the victim to a hospital.
