Police seized several weapons and more than 200 rounds of ammunition on March 19, 2021. DETROIT – Police made a large weapons bust on Detroit’s east side Friday afternoon. One of the men, 26, was issued a ticket for discharging a firearm inside city limits and possessing a weapon while intoxicated. His weapon was recovered, his CPL license was seized and the man was released. AdThe 51-year-old man was currently out on bail after being arrested in February for possession of a stolen firearm.
Detroit rapper back behind bars after posting music video that proved he violated bond
DETROIT – A Detroit rapper is back in custody after breaking the rules of his bond and posting evidence online. Sebrell Cole, also known as Brello, is a Detroit rapper. According to court documents, Brello posted a music video that featured himself in possession of a gun. After the music video was posted online, federal agents executed a search warrant at the Hamburg Street location. Officials said Brello admitted that the music video was filmed while he was out on bond and was not supposed to possess any firearms.
‘No shortage of gun violence’: What ATF is doing to combat spike in illegal gun sales in Metro Detroit
But it’s the illegal gun sales in Metro Detroit that are grabbing the attention of ATF agents. Keith Krolczyk is an assistant special agent in charge of ATF Detroit. “There is no shortage of gun violence in Detroit,” Krolczyk said. AdEdwards first got the attention of agents when, according to court documents, he started texting with James Clark from Southgate. Court documents revealed that Clark’s girlfriend would use a Facebook account to post images and short videos to her account showing the different guns for sale.

DETROIT – Police are looking for three men wanted in connection to a Jan. 28 armed robbery on Detroit’s west side. According to authorities, the robbery happened at a gas station near the intersection of Seven Mile Road and Wyoming Avenue. Metro Detroit community leaders urge residents to put away guns on New Year’s Eve
METRO DETROIT – Reverend Nicholas Hood, III, along with former Detroit Police Chief Ike McKinnon and other local leaders are urging residents to not bring in the New Year with celebratory gunfire. The campaign was started in 1997 after Sandra Latham, a Detroit grandmother, was killed by celebratory gunfire sitting in her dinning room. Video from Jan. 1, 2020 captured celebratory gunfire for nearly three minutes. Incidents from celebratory gunfire isn’t limited to Metro Detroit. 2020 when celebratory gunfire struck her in the neck.
Man shot during argument while walking into Inkster liquor store
INKSTER, Mich. – An argument led to a man getting shot outside an Inkster liquor store Wednesday, police said. Police said the 33-year-old victim was walking into Leon’s Party Store on Inkster Road, just south of Avondale Street, before noon when a man walked up and started arguing with him. An innocent bystander with a concealed pistol license then walked up and the shooter ran away. Police said several people were detained in a different area of the city, and a weapon was retrieved.
Man uses fake gun to steal $740 from victim during cell phone sale in Pontiac
PONTIAC, Mich. – A man used a gun that turned out to be fake to rob a man during a cell phone sale Monday in Pontiac. Authorities said the victim went to a home in the 100 block of Cadillac Street to buy the phone. The seller told him his uncle would come outside to complete the sale. The victim told deputies a man came outside, got into his vehicle, held a gun to his head and pulled the trigger. A 57-year-old Pontiac man was arrested and deputies were able to recover a replica handgun.
Man tries to escape MSP troopers, gets stuck in traffic on the Lodge Freeway
DETROIT – Michigan State Police troopers found a loaded AR-15 in a man’s vehicle after he drove off from a traffic stop. It happened on the John C. Lodge Freeway, near Livernois Avenue, on Detroit’s west side Friday night. Police said they saw a man driving up a closed freeway ramp at about 11:30 p.m. and when they attempted to pull him over, the man drove back onto the Lodge. According to authorities, there was a low-speed chase that ended quickly when the man got stuck in traffic. A loaded AR-15 was found in the vehicle’s trunk.
