Taco Bell is putting Mexican Pizza back on its menu

Taco Bell announced this week it will add the Mexican Pizza back to its menu starting Sept. 15. The fast-food chain removed the beloved menu item in 2020 to “streamline” its offerings. But the Mexican Pizza was then again (temporarily) removed because Taco Bell couldn’t keep up with demand from customers. “Our menu is full of fan favorites, but the Mexican Pizza is at the top of that list,” Mark King, CEO of Taco Bell, said in a release at the time. “From its flashy introduction to menus in 1985 as ‘Pizzazz Pizza’ to its inspiration behind the creation of infamous jingles, Mexican Pizza has a long history with the brand and I’m glad we could give fans what they crave and bring our classic Mexican Pizza back home where it belongs,” King added.

From presidents to faded stars, all welcomed by Larry King

George W. Bush jokes with CNN's Larry King after finishing the "Larry King Live" show from the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville, Tenn. King, who interviewed presidents, movie stars and ordinary Joes during a half-century in broadcasting, has died at age 87. For 25 years until 2010, “Larry King Live” was a fixture on CNN's weeknight schedule, and that was after a lengthy career as a late-night radio host. So did “Larry King Live.” He was busy. “Larry King Live” was a type of show that would feel foreign on cable news today, given its obsession with hard-nosed political combat. “My dad always asked me, 'Did you see who Larry King talked to last night?'"

Lessons from the trip Martin Luther King Jr. took to Michigan State University in 1965

DETROIT – On this Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, many will remember that Detroit was the rehearsal for the civil rights icon’s I Have a Dream speech. Not much is known about the two visits Dr. King made to Michigan State University in the 1960s. Dr. King spoke passionately about achieving a world brotherhood perspective, abolishing the notion of superior and inferior races, and ridding the world of segregation. Don’t let the bullies with the rifles and shotguns intimidate you,” said Dr. Green. And both Dr. Green who is now 87 and Washington, 76, more than 50 years later believe that much of what King spoke about in that speech is still being fought for today.

Remembering the day Martin Luther King Jr. debuted precursor to ‘I Have A Dream’ speech in Detroit

DETROIT – Monday is the 35th official Martin Luther King Jr. Day. For many, MLK Day is just another day off -- a day to relax, a day to do things, do some community service. For one couple, the day means so much more to them because they were there the day King came to Detroit and debuted his original “I Have a Dream” speech on June 23, 1963. Somewhere in that crowd was a 22-year-old warrior for Civil Rights named Dorothy Dewberry-Aldridge. She and her husband, Dan Aldridge, have spent more than 60 years fighting for Civil Rights, equality and social justice.

(AP Photo/John Raoux)CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami quarterback D’Eriq King tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the Hurricanes’ loss this week in the Cheez-It Bowl. The Hurricanes went 8-3 this season, the best record among the seven FBS schools in the state of Florida. King, in first season at Miami following his transfer from Houston, was a big reason for that. King completed 64.1 percent of his passes, the second-best single-season completion percentage for any Miami quarterback and one that qualifies him as, for now anyway, the most accurate passer in Hurricanes history. ___More AP college football: https://apnews.com/Collegefootball and https://twitter.com/AP_Top25

'Is Miami back?': Hurricanes may finally have a good answer

The annual question in Coral Gables — “Is Miami back?” — might finally have an answer Hurricanes fans will like. 9 Miami gets its first ACC championship, a drought that’s now 17 years and counting, but the Hurricanes (8-1, 7-1 ACC, No. Just finishing the right way, that’s really, really, really important. “We were taken away from each other for almost two weeks and didn’t really get back as an entire football team — I mean, not even an entire football team, but anything resembling a football team — until this past Monday. Odd as this sounds, that’s Miami’s second-longest ACC streak; the Hurricanes won 11 consecutive league games spanning 2016 and 2017.
