2 dead in Alpena Township building fire
ALPENA TOWNSHIP, Mich. Two bodies were found among debris after a building caught fire in Alpena Thursday afternoon, according to authorities. Part of Squirrel Road in Bloomfield Township closed due to gas leak
BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. Consumers Energy has closed Squirrel Road between Long Lake Road and Highwood Drive in Bloomfield Township due to a gas leak. Officials suggest using Wattles Road to Adams Road, back to Long Lake Road and vice versa as a detour. The road is expected to reopen to traffic late on Saturday.
1 dead, 1 injured in head-on collision on Middlebelt Road in West Bloomfield Township
WEST BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – One driver was killed and another was injured Friday in a head-on collision on Middlebelt Road in West Bloomfield Township, police said. The crash happened around 11 a.m. Friday on Middlebelt Road just north of Long Lake Road, according to authorities. Police said a 73-year-old man was driving south on Middlebelt Road when he crossed the center line and hit another vehicle head-on. The 73-year-old was transported in critical condition and pronounced dead at the hospital. Middlebelt Road was closed between Shore Hill Drive and Long Lake Road, but it has since reopened.
Bloomfield Hills man killed in collision with dump truck in Bloomfield Township

Crews will also close the ramp from westbound I-696 to southbound I-75, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Eight Mile Road, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Nine Mile Road and the Nine Mile Road entrance ramp to southbound I-75. Northbound I-75 to close intermittently at Long Lake Road overnight
OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced crews will intermittently close northbound I-75 for 15-minute periods during the overnight hours on Thursday, Aug. 15. Northbound I-75 will have intermittent 15-minute full closures at Long Lake Road overnight on Thursday, Aug. 15. The intermittent closures will occur at Long Lake Road for setting new bridge beams, MDOT said. The intermittent northbound closures will begin at 10 p.m. and end by 5 a.m. the following morning. Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, both directions of Rochester Road will be closed under I-75 for the demolition of the northbound I-75 bridge over Rochester Road.
