Residents on Brumar Street in Chesterfield Township say their neighborhood road has become nearly undrivable, and the county agency responsible for maintaining it says a real fix will cost homeowners money.

More than 40 pavement repair and maintenance projects on Macomb County roads are scheduled to be completed in 2025.

Officials announced that more than $83 million will be invested into road, bridge and traffic improvements throughout Macomb County in 2025.

More than $163 million in road, bridge and traffic improvement projects are scheduled for Macomb County this year.

Part of Hall Road (M-59) is closed Friday afternoon in Clinton Township due to a gas leak, officials said.

Officials have released a list of current and upcoming traffic projects in Macomb County.

Snow has been falling in Mount Clemens at a rate of around an inch per hour.

Dispatchers and road crews in Macomb County are working together to keep the roads as clear as possible during the major February 2022 snowstorm.

Like it or not, the snow is going to fall sooner rather than later and it has county road commissions in Metro Detroit scrambling. They need plow drivers and lots of them.

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – The Macomb County Department of Roads (MCDR) is asking residents to prepare for winter by “shaking their mailboxes this fall.”The goal is to prevent damage to the mailboxes from snow thrown by passing plow trucks. Residents are asked to tighten screws and ensure the post and mailbox are secure enough to withstand large amounts of thrown snow. MCDR encourages residents to check the location, stability and durability of their mailboxes. “Our top priority is to maintain safe and efficient roads by keeping them clear during the winter months. Mailbox damage caused by snow being pushed to the side of the road is the homeowner’s responsibility to repair,” said Bryan Santo, MCDR Director.

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. – Michigan State Police are searching for the driver in a fatal hit-and-run on Interstate 94 that killed a 26-year-old construction worker. The incident happened just before 3 p.m. in St. Clair Shores. Macomb County Department of Roads crew was putting down a patch to fix a broken manhole cover. The eastbound lanes were shut down for three-plus hours as MSP investigated the scene at Nine Mile Road. Person working on the side of the road has a vest, maybe a barrel,” said Diane Cross with the Michigan Department of Transportation.

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – Construction on westbound 26 Mile Road has been completed and the road is open to traffic, according to the Macomb County Department of Roads. Westbound 26 Mile Road east of Stony Creek Park Bridge, Washington Township, Shelby Township had been closed for construction.
