Children under the age of 12 stopped by Dannys Frozen Custard in Monroe to do just that. As part of National Ice Cream Month, July 1 is I Pledge for Ice Cream Day, a day where children can receive a free ice cream for reciting the Pledge of Allegiance from memory. Dannys Frozen Custard has participated in the event for over 10 years. We easily see 100 kids each year, even when its raining we get a lot, Kellie Vuich, owner of the frozen custard stand, said.
