Final thoughts on Orange Bowl and the (weird) final week of Michigan’s improbable 2021 season

Now that we’ve had a few days to reflect on what happened Friday night, I can’t help but reminisce on the weird week that was the Orange Bowl. Let’s begin before the team even arrived in South Florida on Dec. 25, Christmas Day, when bowl disruptions began in earnest. Normally, we in the media would be able to confirm (or debunk) such rumors during a bowl week. Meanwhile, Michigan went about its bowl week as best as it could. While the game was decided early, crushing Michigan fans’ hopes of a dream season, you can’t help but look back at how improbable 2021 really was.
