Man suspected of being involved in Detroit crimes arrested, facing charges
DETROIT – A man suspected of being involved in an armed robbery that happened Jan. 28 at a gas station in the 10000 block of West Seven Mile in Detroit is in custody and facing charges for a separate incident, police say. After taking the victim’s gun he pulled out a different weapon and pointed it at the man before fleeing the scene. AdDuring that incident he allegedly shot and critically wounded a 19-year-old man at a gas station. In terms of the gas station armed robbery an additional warrant packet for his alleged involvement will be submitted to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
Part of SB I-75 closed in Detroit through Thursday morning
DETROIT – Southbound lanes on I-75 will be closed on Detroit’s west side overnight Wednesday, Feb. 3 and into the morning of Thursday, Feb. 4, officials say. UPDATE -- 3:40 p.m.: All southbound lanes on I-75 are now open after Seven Mile Road. UPDATE -- 3:11 p.m.: Only the right lane on southbound I-75 after Seven Mile Road remains closed Thursday afternoon. UPDATE -- 2 p.m.: Southbound I-75 was open Thursday afternoon along this stretch, however traffic was backed up. Southbound I-75 lanes between Seven Mile and E. McNichols roads will be closed through Thursday morning due to bridge repairs.
Detroit man charged in connection with deadly gas station shooting
DETROIT – Detroit resident Keyon Wilson-Ollis, 22, has been charged in connection with a Seven Mile and Woodward gas station shooting that left one dead and two injured on Dec. 23. According to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, during the shooting the suspect allegedly killed a 37-year-old man. A 41-year-old woman and 17-year-old man were also shot, but survived. Wilson-Ollis was found and taken into custody the same day of the shooting.

Motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run on I-75 in Detroit
DETROIT – Police are searching for the driver of a Dodge Challenger that fatally struck a motorcyclist early Tuesday morning on southbound I-75 in Detroit. Michigan State Police said the vehicle struck the motorcyclist about 1:30 a.m. The Challenger’s driver and a passenger both fled the area. The southbound side of I-75 was closed for several hours at 7 Mile Road as police investigated. No other information is available at this time.
Police investigating shooting near dollar store on Detroit’s west side
DETROIT – Police are investigating after shots a 27-year-old man was shot near the intersection of Seven Mile and Greenfield roads. According to authorities, police were already in the area when they heard gunshots and ran outside to find the gunman chasing the victim. 3 bodies found inside Detroit home after explosion, 2 taken into custody
DETROIT Police are questioning two men about a house fire early Wednesday morning on Detroits east side. Neighbors were startled out of their sleep to the sounds of a house explosion. Police say the suspects were arrested on unrelated warrants but theyre still being questioned. Neighbors claim to have heard gunshots before the explosion and saw a person fleeing the scene after the explosion. Police said the next step is identifying the bodies and finding out how they died before they can potentially press charges on the men taken into custody.

Woman steals moose decoration from Livonia home in middle of night, police say
LIVONIA, Mich. - A woman was caught on video stealing a moose decoration from the front of a Livonia home in the middle of the night, police said. The incident happened around 4:35 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the area of Seven Mile and Middle Belt roads in Livonia, according to authorities. Surveillance video captured the woman stealing a moose lawn ornament in front of the home, officials said. Anyone with information is asked to call Livonia police at 734-466-2318. Redford police seek help finding missing 13-year-old girl
REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Police are looking for a missing 13-year-old girl who was last seen just after 8 a.m. Thursday. According to authorities, Madison Ziulkowski was last seen in the area of Seven Mile and Beech Daly roads. Ziulkowski is 5 feet tall and weighs about 130 pounds. REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Police are searching for a man who is missing after walking away from a group home in Redford Township. John Paul Bloomguist was last seen Monday in the area of Inkster and Seven Mile roads, police said. He is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair, according to authorities. 'Serious water main issue' affecting water pressure for many Livonia residents
LIVONIA, Mich. - A "serious water main issue" has left many Livonia residents with low water pressure in parts of the city, officials said. Officials with the Water and Sewer section of the Department of Public Works said there is a serious water main problem at the corner of Seven Mile and Newburgh roads. Residents from Seven Mile Road south to Schoolcraft along the Mewburgh and Levan roads corridor might have low water pressure or no water pressure at all, according to officials. Crews are working to solve the issue as quickly and safely as possible, officials said. No boil water advisory has been issued, city officials said.
