mlive.comDodge owners again warned to stop driving certain cars as exploding air bag kills another driver
The latest warning comes roughly six weeks after the company previously warned drivers of impacted models to park their cars until the air bags are fixed. At that time, the company confirmed two deaths as a result of the exploding air bags and suspected a third death was related to the issue. Stellantis has now confirmed that third death was a result of the air bags. The issue with the air bags is caused by ammonium nitrate used in the air bags to create a small explosion which inflates air bags in a crash. Owners of impacted models can contact a local dealer to have the air bags fixed for free.

news.yahoo.comRam recalls 1.4M trucks because tailgates can open unexpectedly
DETROIT (AP) — Stellantis is recalling about 1.4 million pickup trucks worldwide because the tailgates may not close completely and cargo could spill onto the road. The recall covers Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickups from the 2019 to 2022 model years. The company, formerly Fiat Chrysler, says it found that striker plates on the pickups may not be lined up right to allow complete closure. In the meantime, Stellantis says owners should make sure they secure any cargo in the beds. Pickups with “multi-function tailgates,” the Ram 1500 Classic, and trucks with sensors that alert drivers to unsecured tailgates are not affected by the recall, the company says.
