Girl arrested for allegedly making threats to ‘shoot up’ school in Sterling Heights
STERLING HEIGHTS, MI -- Sterling Heights Police have arrested a girl after she allegedly made threats to “shoot up” Stevenson High School. According to WDIV-Detroit, the girl was arrested Thursday and is now awaiting charges from the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office. The arrest comes as police were investigating a pair of threats made toward Stevenson High School and Heritage Junior High School in recent days. Investigators believe the girl, who is now in custody, made a threat toward the high school, but have not determined where the other threat came from yet.

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. - A student broke her pelvis Wednesday when she was struck by a car in a crosswalk in front of Stevenson High School in Sterling Heights, police said. Police said the student was crossing Dodge Park Road in the crosswalk at Falcon Drive when she was hit by a vehicle heading north on Dodge Park Road. She was alert when Sterling Heights firefighters arrived to treat her for hip and leg pain, officials said. The girl was taken to a nearby hospital for surgery on her broken pelvis, medical officials said. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Sterling Heights police at 586-446-2920.
